Set up your TV

From a new account to channels on your screen. You need a licence, a TV with Nucleic TV on it and a playlist from a source you may use. Nucleic TV does not provide one.

Create an account and choose a plan

Pairing needs a licence, and a licence needs an account. Creating the account is free; you pay only when you choose a plan.

  1. Create your account with your name, an email and a password.

  2. Choose a plan on the pricing page. The TV asks for this step too: its pairing screen says “Sign in and choose a plan”.

  3. You also need the Nucleic TV app on your TV. It is still in development and not announced for a TV store yet; store availability will be posted on this site.

Pair the TV

A short code replaces typing links with a remote.

  1. Open Nucleic TV on your TV. It shows a six-character code and a QR code.

  2. On your phone or computer, scan the QR code, or open the pairing page and type the code. Sign in if you are asked to.

  3. Check that the code on the page is the one on your TV, then choose “Pair this TV”.

  4. Within a few seconds the TV signs in by itself and loads your playlists.

A code lasts 10 minutes. After that the TV shows a new one. One licence covers up to three TVs: release one in your account to pair another.

Open the pairing page

Add a playlist

Playlists live in your account and your paired TVs load them. You can keep up to 5.

  1. Sign in, open your account, find “Playlists” and choose “Add playlist”.

  2. Give it a name. Paste the M3U link from your provider into “Playlist link (M3U)”. It must be an http or https link.

  3. Save. A TV that is playing a channel picks up the change when you choose “Reload playlist” in “Settings > Playlist”; it fetches your playlists from our server again. To open Settings, press Up (or Menu) on the TV, then choose the “Settings” tile in the quick menu.

  4. A TV that shows “The playlist could not be loaded” picks up the change when you press OK. It also asks again by itself every 30 to 60 seconds, so you never need to restart the app.

An Xtream login instead of a link

Open the “Have an Xtream login? Build the links from it” section. Enter the host, username and password from your provider and choose “Build links”. The page fills in the playlist link and the guide link. It builds them in your browser and sends nothing until you save.

Saved links are stored encrypted. Our server decrypts them only to hand them to your TV. It never fetches the playlist or the guide itself; your TV does.

Open your account

Add a programme guide

A guide is optional. It adds what is on now and next to your channels.

  1. In your account, choose “Edit” on the playlist.

  2. Paste the XMLTV address into “Guide link (XMLTV), optional” and save.

  3. On the TV, choose “Reload playlist” in “Settings > Playlist”.

A channel shows programmes only when the guide knows it by the same ID (tvg-id) as the playlist does. If the guide stays empty, the guide section of troubleshooting explains why.

Guide problems

Read the playlist report

On the TV, open “Settings > Playlist”. Under the playlist you find a short report of what the TV found in it.

Channels
How many channels the playlist has, and in how many groups.
With programme guide
How many channels the guide has programmes for, and their share of all channels. A low share points at the guide, not at the player.
With logo
How many channels carry a logo. A channel without a logo plays normally.
Streams this TV cannot play
Channels whose address uses a stream type such as rtmp, rtsp or srt. The TV skips them. This line appears only when there are some.
Repeated names
Channels that share a name, so the playlist may list one channel twice. This line appears only when there are some.

Under the numbers the TV adds a note when something stands out: most channels have no guide ID (tvg-id), no guide is loaded, or the guide covers fewer than half of the channels.

Use the report to tell a playlist or guide problem from a player problem before you look for a fix.
